Why we make our clothes from MERINO WOOL and Tencel

Healthiest for your butt and safest for the Planet!

What clothes are made of is crucial to their functionality and your comfort and health. The material should breathe, wick away moisture, regulate body temperature and not irritate the skin. Especially when we are talking about underwear - the first layer of clothing, remaining in super close contact with the body all day long. And harm the environment as little as possible.

Once underwear was sewn exclusively from linen, which has its advantages and... a lot of disadvantages. Today there is a wide choice of raw materials - from natural to synthetic, but the best properties are merino wool and TENCEL™ Lyocell . The best for you and the environment. Why them?

THERMOREGULATE or die!

merino wool bodysuit Natural fibers, such as merino wool , are characterized by exceptional thermoregulatory properties. Thanks to its structure, merino can effectively wick moisture away from the skin surface, which is particularly important during physical activity. But not only that! In winter, it is enough to enter a heated room from a cold outside to feel the need to support the thermoregulation process. Usually, with such a rapid change in ambient temperature, we start to sweat just as quickly. In this way, the body releases excess heat, which is absorbed by the so-called first layer of our clothing, i.e. underwear. And at this stage, comfort is determined by the rate of moisture wicking, or in other words - the drying of the material. The higher the rate, the better we feel about ourselves. The faster the area around our armpits dries, the lower the risk of unpleasant odor. However, the development of bacteria that cause sweat to smell unpleasant is also prevented by natural

Antibacterial properties of wool.

Where does it come from? Besides the fact that wool and TENCEL™ Lyocell does not retain moisture - and a dry environment is, as we know, a healthier environment - the shape of a single fiber makes it very difficult for bacteria to grow. Nothing beats wool in this respect! Wool fibers are twisted, with an uneven, porous surface, so microorganisms do not have easy access to the interior. Keratin, a protein that is the building block of wool, inhibits the development of pathogens. The natural pH of wool is also an ally in creating an environment free of bacteria and fungi. And finally, there is LANOLIN - a natural oil with antimicrobial properties.

So by wearing woolen panties you take comprehensive care of your health, and not only because it keeps you warm.

This rule applies both in winter and summer. That is why thermal underwear for the summer season is an equally practical accessory!

In the heat, excess moisture in the armpits, breasts and groins also means a risk of skin irritation and chafing. To avoid them, it is really worth paying attention to the composition of the clothes you buy. We do not encourage you to wear woolen panties at 30 degrees Celsius (although they will always be a better choice than polyester) mainly because there is a great alternative to them. In the form of an artificial (though NOT SYNTHETIC!) but NATURAL fiber, which is TENCEL™ Lyocell . This cellulose fiber has - like merino wool - THERMOACTIVE properties. It is extremely soft, super fast-drying and naturally antibacterial.

There's no Planet B

The biggest advantage of wool in this respect is its biodegradability. It is easy to check - a wool sweater buried in the garden will decompose into environmentally harmless microparticles within a few months. The same cannot be said about a polyester T-shirt (it will take a few hundred years). In our collections, we use yarn with mulesing-free certificates, because it is a guarantee of ethical sheep breeding. TENCEL™ Lyocell is the most modern type of viscose. Its production was patented by the Austrian company Lenzing, a specialist in ecological fibers. TENCEL™ Lyocell is produced from wood cellulose in a closed cycle, which means that most of the chemicals and water used in the production process are reused. This minimizes the impact on the environment. And it is also biodegradable! Like wool, it does not leave a harmful trace in the ecosystem after the end of its life cycle.

We like to think that when you wear our wool panties or Lyocell bralette , you are doing good to yourself and our Planet.
